‘Once Upon a Time’ season 4 spoilers: Answers coming on Maleficent’s ‘revival’

One thing that we are very happy about right now when it comes to “Once Upon a Time” is that finally, we have an answer when it comes to Maleficent’s existence in this world. If you remember, this is seemingly a character who has been “killed” multiple times. How in the world is she still alive, and set to play a major role in the final eleven episodes of the season?

Well, it turns out there will be an official answer when it comes to this soon enough. As co-creator Edward Kitsis said in a new interview with D23, you will not be forced to wait too long in order to get some explanation:

“We have done it twice with Maleficent. The first time we thought Emma killed her. And the second time, she came back as that ash monster because we understood there was a spell on her that preserved her in any form she was in. So we never actually saw her body or her heart. But how she is resurrected is going to be explained in the first couple episodes.”

If there is something on here that we consider to be especially fun at the moment, it is this: If Kristin Bauer van Straten’s character has already shown herself to be this hard to kill, imagine just how difficult it is going to be to kill this character in the end!
