‘How to Get Away with Murder’ finale spoilers: Wes wrestles with Rebecca suspicions

Thursday night’s “How to Get Away with Murder” finale has the challenge of trying to tie together a variety of different loose ends, and at the moment, one of the biggest ones ties back to the Rebecca character: Was she really the killer of Lila Stangard all along? If this turns out to be the case, we have to give the show some serious praise for managing to completely trick us here. It turned the character from a suspect to an interesting participant, and if she becomes a suspect again, that makes things all the more heartbreaking.

In the sneak peek below, Wes arrives home to her after a long day out, and one where he was suspiciously unreachable. The two share an “affectionate” moment, but Rebecca’s no idiot. She knows that something is off with their interaction here.

One of the interesting questions that could come out of this is whether or not Wes has any business actually telling someone else about his girlfriend’s guilt, given that he is responsible for the death of Sam Keating himself. Therefore, he is nothing more than a murderer in his own right, and she has him in some ways hostage.

This finale is going to be complicated. Maybe there is an arrest or two by the end of it, but we cannot see any of the major characters written off the show. You don’t want to fall into the trap of killing everyone off to the point that it becomes incredibly unrealistic.
