‘Empire’ finale spoilers: See Rita Ora; show exec on Denzel Washington dream

There is no series out there quite like “Empire” at the moment, and there is no other series that the majority of famous people would want to be a part of. The show’s ratings are through the roof, you have an eclectic cast, and you probably are going to have a chance to do something fun. Given that the show has already been renewed for a second season, you also have many opportunities already to plan for the future.

So who is one person executive producer Lee Daniels wants to see on the second season? (The show has already made its plans for all of season 1.) It’s none other than movie megastar Denzel Washington. In most instances, we’d say that getting him is a reach; however, Daniels is one of the few people out there with the connections to make this happen.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly in a new interview, Daniels claims that one of the real challenges with Washington is mostly availability; also, he is working to get another famous face in Lenny Kravitz on board.

“It’s about his schedule … I’ve got to lure him in with my fishhook, but he is really a great support of the show and Lenny Kravitz is going to be on the show, hopefully. We’re going to make sure we try and create a storyline for him.” 

Just to go along with all of this, the first photo of Rita Ora from the show’s upcoming finale is up per the website. She is going to be playing herself on the series, which is hopefully a role that she will be able to handle just fine and then some. Ora is a very busy woman at the moment; in addition to doing this show, she also has a full-time gig over on the British version of “The Voice.”
