ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 7 spoilers: Boss still fluid on future of Stana Katic, Nathan Fillion, series

Take a look -Even though we are almost into March now, there is still no definitive word one way or another when it comes to the future of Nathan Fillion and Stana Katic on “Castle.” Maybe it is a waiting game to see if the show has an eighth season before contract talks start to get intense, but this is something that has to get done eventually. You really cannot have a show without the two of them staying a part of it.

Let it be known that we think that both will eventually re-sign (they’ve given no indication otherwise), just as we are also still under the belief that the show will get renewed. For the time being, showrunner David Amann is being very coy, and keeping many of his cards close to his vest. Maybe he doesn’t want to tip his cap one way or another as to how the show will end this season. Ultimately, the message we feel he really wants to pass along (per TVLine) is that he and the writers / producers are ready for whatever happens:

“Obviously, we’re prepared for whatever comes along, and we’ll adjust as necessary. But we’re hopeful that the show will move forward. In the meantime, we’ll just make the best show that we can.”

The biggest thing to blame for any level of uncertainty right now is ABC. If you look at every other broadcast network right now, they have already renewed a number of shows. The CW basically renewed their entire lineup. Meanwhile, the alphabet network has kept everyone waiting, even with some obvious renewals like “How to Get Away with Murder,” “Scandal,” and some of their Wednesday comedies.

We will have some updates as they come up, but for now, don’t worry too much about if the show will continue. Stay positive, and focus on the story more than everything behind the scenes.
