‘How to Get Away with Murder’: Viola Davis will be the new Amanda Waller

Keating - Meet the new Amanda Waller … different than the old Amanda Waller.

For a while now, there have been rumors that “How to Get Away with Murder” star Viola Davis was going to be cast as the character in the upcoming “Suicide Squad” movie, which is being filmed in Toronto. At one point, even Oprah Winfrey was rumored for the part! Ultimately, though, Davis has what you would want from the character for the post part, including the power and the ability to go between a hero and a villain at the drop of a hat. There are not many other people out there who are fully capable of this.

Canadian talk show “eTalk” managed to confirm the news via Davis herself, as per the Twitter embed. Warner Bros. has not officially commented on it just yet, but Davis wouldn’t say this unless she was in.

The challenge for this movie is trying to be as excellent as we feel the Squad is in many ways on “Arrow.” For example, we love what Cynthia Addai-Robinson brings to this role on the show, given that she is incredibly intimidating, and we never get the feeling that she is ever out of the loop. As a matter of fact, we wonder at times if she is actually the most evil character on the entire show, given that she can blow up a whole city at almost the drop of a hat.

We’re not going to report too much more on the movie. We’re just bummed that we didn’t get to see more of Harley Quinn on “Arrow.”
