Kevin Hart prepares for the Comedy Central Roast of Justin Bieber with Oscars snipe

Who would’ve thought that there would have been a tie-in between the Academy Awards and the upcoming Central Roast of Justin Bieber airing at the end of next month? When you think about it for a minute, there are probably not many other things out there that are more different than this! On one side of the coin, you’ve got glitz and glamor; then, on the other side you have jokes about drug use and bodily functions.

In the context of the E! live red-carpet show Sunday, what we got was a preview of the roast from its host in Kevin Hart. Speaking to Ryan Seacrest, he confirmed that he is already working on some material to use at the expense of the singer. While the two have a good relationship, that is not stopping him from coming at him, and also coming at him hard.

Specifically, Hart joked that Bieber was especially going to be mocked for having a pet monkey at one point … which does seem about right. Anytime that you are willing to go this far to prove how much money you have is basically an instance of setting yourself up for a little bit of ridicule.

The majority of the lineup for the big show has yet to be announced, but we anticipate that it is going to be a mixture of people who know Bieber already, and people who Comedy Central knows for sure will go out and tell good jokes. With more of the “friends” involved, it is always more of a risk.
