‘Bates Motel’ season 3 spoilers: See Freddie Highmore, Vera Farmiga in another promo

It is pretty easy at the moment to love what “Bates Motel” is bringing to the table in some of their latest promos. They are atmospheric, creepy, and above all remind us that Freddie Highmore and Vera Farmiga are criminally underrated. Maybe they don’t get the proper due because of the genre, or because their network does not have a huge library of original programming. It’s hard to tell.

The latest video below does a tremendous job of raising the stakes for one, and then reminding us in general of what the show has done so well: Establish this terribly complicated relationship between two people. Norma and Norman care about each other deeply, and in a way, that is a part of the problem. They care each other far beyond how much they really should, and she has blinded herself at times to some of his inner rage.

Moving into the season 3 premiere on March 9, she is not going to be able to ignore the warning signs any longer. He will become more and more destructive, and her life will start to tailspin. She could end up becoming closer to Dylan as a means of an escape from the madness, but as you would expect, this will probably not be met with a very good response from Norman, either.

Ultimately, the biggest thing that we can say about this season right now is that it may bring us close to Norman’s destiny … even if it doesn’t bring us all the way. We feel like there is potential for at least one more season after this.
