‘Gotham’ episode 17 preview: The Penguin runs into hard times

The good news for Oswald Cobblepot on “Gotham“? He managed to secure the club for himself! A part of us already wants to consider it the Iceberg Lounge through and through. Unfortunately, the bad news here is that he still has a thing or two to learn about club operations, including that it is probably not a good idea to have so many enemies that it makes it next to impossible to keep the business going.

In the new sneak peek below from Monday’s episode, the Penguin learns that the major supplier for all of the booze in his side of town is none other than Maroni. Of course, the problem here is that Maroni refuses to supply him with any, even if he is taking a little bit of a financial hit in the process.

Ultimately, the Penguin decides that he will take matters into his own hands, and figure out a way to ensure that he has all of the booze that he needs. Good luck with that, since almost everyone is afraid to cross a guy with so much control of the city. Just one wrong move could be enough to send shockwaves through the neighborhood, and have trouble arrive at his doorstop.

The first half of “Gotham” season 1 for Oswald seemed to be mostly all about figuring out how to survive in this world; not, it appears to be more about how to thrive, and navigate those tough waters that are even chillier than the sea.
