‘The Blacklist’ season 2 spoilers: Will the truth about Liz’s father be revealed by finale?
Ever since the series premiere of “The Blacklist,” there has been one super-important question at the center of Liz Keen’s story … and we made that very clear in the title.
Is it really possible that we’ll learn whether or not Reddington is her father? At the end of the season 1 finale, he told Liz that he was not her dad; at the same time, though, are you really keen to believe him? Is this the sort of guy who has really built up a reputation for truth-telling? We don’t quite think so. Luckily, it appears that some more clues are coming before the end of the season, even if there is not a conclusive answer anytime soon. Just take a look at what executive producer John Eisendrath had to say in a new chat with Entertainment Weekly:
“A more definitive answer [is coming], yeah. There are going to be answers about that that are more definitive.”
Personally, we are for any answer to this riddle that is not the obvious one. For now, the “obvious one” seems to be having Red be the father, but we know that there is the potential for so much more, and so many different twists and turns to be unveiled here. We just have to hope that the show goes in a more creative direction, and maybe has Red linked to the dad in an interesting way without having him be the dad.
Also, we hope the show moves back to Mondays. Putting the show against “Scandal” just hasn’t been working when it comes to getting good ratings.

1. I love the idea od Red being Elizabeth’s father. I mean – how many crime tv shows are there in which the main characters are a father and a daughter to each other? Come on, give it to me. Personally, I’m sick of all those will-they-or-won’t-they couple-themed shows. It’s what we’ve been watching for at least last two decades.
2. My theory: the real Raymond Reddington is dead and the one we see is the man who is Lizzie’s father. He had a plastic surgery (we know he underwent at least one) and stole the real Reddington’s identity. In the first episode Red actually said “everything you know about me is a lie”. So what if “everything” was literal? And one of the main themes of the show is identity – who we are, why we do what we do, are we predisposed to do some things or do we become who we are, so this type of storyline matches perfectly.

Honestly, I rather have Red connected in some way to her father and have a whole different man be her father. I can see him being a family friend of hers when she was younger and have her mother and father turn against him on the night of the fire and then abandoning him and their daughter and either having Lizzie trying to get Red out of the fire or vice versa. With this show, nothing is what it seems on the service.
