‘The Big Bang Theory’ season 8, episode 16 preview: Remembering Mrs. Wolowitz; Sheldon, Penny’s experiment

The Big Bang TheoryNext week, “The Big Bang Theory” is sure to air what is going to be a pretty emotional half-hour of television in “The Intimacy Acceleration.” While the show will not be entirely set around the funeral for Mrs. Wolowitz, the synopsis below does make it fairly clear that it will be a significant part of the story:

“As a joke, Sheldon and Penny try an experiment designed to make participants fall in love. Also, Leonard, Amy, Raj and Emily spend the evening trying to escape a room with a “zombie.” And, after returning from Mrs. Wolowitz’ funeral, Bernadette and Howard run into trouble at the airport.”

There are two real surprises in this story, starting first and foremost with the idea that it seems that most of the cast will not be at the funeral, other than Howard and his wife. Also, we’re surprised that the show decided to move the character away right before she passed.

There will be a variety of guest stars in this episode, including the return of Laura Spencer as Emily, and also “Glee” and “Switched at Birth” actor Max Adler playing a zombie. He’s been a very busy guy these days, given that he also guested recently on “Blue Bloods.” Ultimately, we hope that there are some tender, emotional moments in here, mixed of course with a little bit of humor. This is never a show designed to make you feel bad; instead, it is about being uplifting and fun above all else.
