‘Law & Order: SVU’ season 16, episode 16 preview: Marcia Cross guest stars in ‘December Solstice’
In case you have not seen the official synopsis yet, take a look at it below:
“Celebrity author Walter Briggs (guest star Robert Vaughn) is the focus of a feud between his sixth wife, Charmaine (guest star Marcia Cross), and his daughters from previous marriages (guest stars Emily Bergl and Susan Pourfar). The fight over control for both his well-being and his estate becomes a criminal case when Charmaine is accused of abusing her husband. Meanwhile, Barba (Raul Esparza) struggles with his own family drama when he goes against his grandmother’s wishes.”
This episode caps off what has been a busy February sweeps for the show, given that we have seen everything from Gamergate to a mother doing everything in her power to protect her child featured at one point or another. Benson has had her hands full, and that is just discussing some of what she is up to on the job. We’re not even getting into here what she has on her plate at home.

What we all learned from the last episode is that if NBC had a chance to keep Donal Logue before he signed on to do GOTHAM, THEY BLEW IT BIG TIME! His being on the show could have given Mariska an episode off here and there, and they could have done a storyline focusing on the other detectives. They couldn’t do that once Logue left. This is where you learn that hindsight is 20×20. Unfortunately, NBC still hasn’t figured that out.
