Is ‘Criminal Minds’ season 10, episode 16 new tonight on CBS?

While the February sweeps a.k.a. one of the biggest times in television may be winding down, that is not going to be the case for “Criminal Minds.” The bad news is that there is no new episode of the crime drama on CBS Wednesday night, but there are going to be many more episodes ahead throughout the month of March!

First, we should really give you a proper explanation for the lack of Hotch and company on the network tonight: It is simply a matter of “The Mentalist” going off the air. Due to it airing a two-hour series finale, there’s just no room in the schedule. Meanwhile, next week we have the 90-minute premiere of “Survivor,” and then followed up by the 90-minute premiere of “The Amazing Race.”

When the show returns on March 4, it will be doing so with “Lockdown,” an installment directed by none other than series star Thomas Gibson. The objective here is going to be to take you within the world of the prison system, and show you a little bit more all about what is going on within those walls.

Beyond this episode, there are at least two more installments set for March, airing on the 11th and the 25th. We expect there to be a few off weeks here and there, mostly because CBS broadcasts NCAA basketball and also because there are 24 episodes that have to stretch all the way from October until May. That means repeats are necessary from time to time.
