‘Agent Carter’ finale spoilers: Peggy, Leviathan, and surprises in store

It was only a mere matter of weeks ago that “Agent Carter” first premiered on ABC, but come next week, you may actually end up seeing the show’s very last episode. “Valediction” is the title of the season finale, and the promo below teases all-out war in many ways. Peggy has to protect the legacy of those she loves, while stopping everything from a shooting to other acts of terrible violence. Hayley Atwell’s character has been through a lot, including the departure of Steve Rogers. Still, this may end up being one test after another for what she is about to face.

The great thing about this finale is that the show gets to go out without ever feeling like it was stuffed with filler, and it had a great, contained storyline that taught us more about Peggy. As for what the future could hold beyond this, that is still to be seen. We certainly believe that the powers that be over at ABC would love to create another season of “Agent Carter” if the ratings dictate it, but so far those numbers have been a little bit of a bummer. Maybe it is still successful enough to warrant another season airing at this time of the year, but we may not find out for a little while. In the event the show is not renewed, this will be viewed as more of an “event.”
