‘The Bachelorette’ spoilers: Britt Nilsson, Carly Waddell’s chances laid out by Chris Harrison
Who does ABC and the producers of “The Bachelorette” really want as the next star of the show? We’re not sure that there is a cut-and-dry answer to it this season. This about this for a minute: Whitney Bischoff is the frontrunner per the edit to win the season, Becca Tilley is rather conservative, Jade Roper may be a little wild, and then Kaitlyn Bristowe may have too hard of a time expressing her inner feelings. This is the final four this season, and typically the series lead tends to have a hometown date. There are exceptions, but most of them (Juan Pablo Galavis and Jake Pavelka) don’t end up being great stars and ambassadors for the franchise.
This is probably why producers and host Chris Harrison are at least talking about other candidates. What seems interesting to us is that Britt Nilsson seems to almost be getting a better chance at the gig that Carly Waddell. Just take a look at what Chris said about Britt to TV Guide:
“We definitely want to wait until “Women Tell All” and the finale [to make a decision], but Britt would give us a good Bachelorette. She’s beautiful, she’s articulate; it would be very emotional and the guys would be very happy. She’s definitely a candidate for sure.”
Meanwhile, Chris then said the following about Carly:
“I love Carly. She almost wanted it too bad. The thing I love about Carly, but I see why she ends up as the best friend, is she’s funny and deprecating. Carly got a little mean at Britt towards the end, but I get it, she’s bitter towards the pretty girl and she admitted it. It’s heartbreaking when you hear her, but a lot of women will empathize with it, which makes her relatable. She’s so frickin’ funny.”
It’s somewhat bizarre that Britt is given a little more of a pass for her manipulations, and then Carly is labeled more as “bitter.” We do have our fears with both of them; while we’ve been a champion for Carly, would she memorable enough down the line? As for Britt, is she really interested in romance on this show, or an advancement towards the next stage of her career?
After reading these comments, we’ve almost reversed course and think that this gig may be Britt’s to lose, regardless of what we saw on TV. Almost 2,000 people voted on our recent poll on the subject of who should be the next “Bachelorette,” and 44% voted for Carly. Kaitlyn was in second place with more than 22%, and Becca third with 16%. Britt was in fourth with right around 7%. Obviously, this could be somewhat skewed due to either SEO, or that only diehard members of Bachelor Nation or willing to go online and vote.

I think Carly would be a better bachelorette than Britt because she is more relatable. Yes, she was bitter towards Britt but so were many of the girls. This is because Britt seems like a spoiled brat. I think that Carly would take it more seriously, like Desiree. I think Britt would use this chance to further her career and push away guys who don’t worship her or question her, ala Andy. We all know how that turned out.

The only issue is Zak and plus Carly seems to have a busy career. I think Kaitlyn would be fine because she doesn’t open up that easily and is quite mysterious. A mysterious girl wouldn’t be that bad. Every guy will get very persistent with her and question her constantly. I know Becca seems mysterious and cold as well but I’m more for Kaitlyn, whatever.
