‘Game of Thrones’ season 5 star Lena Headey pregnant with second child
While there are not too many details about this particular pregnancy available, we can confirm right now that Lena Headey, who plays Cersei Lannister on the hit HBO series, is currently expecting her second child. The actress confirmed the news to People Magazine, one in which she seemed to release in part so that there would be no more speculation or harassment by the paparazzi as to whether or not she was expecting:
“I’m happy to confirm that I’m having my second child this summer … I only hope that this announcement can help me to regain some of the privacy I have recently lost to prying photographers and ask that they please respect my privacy and let me enjoy this time.”
This is still certainly one of the stranger statements that has been given in announcing pregnancy news, but we feel like her feelings are in some ways indicative of how many stars of this series have seen their lives change since taking part. While they may be eternally grateful for the opportunity, it is still not particularly easy to handle the intense presence of cameras and people who constantly try to ask something of you. It may be part of the job, but still.
For those wondering, we do not feel like this will have an enormous impact of Headey’s future on the series. There is no word yet on when “Game of Thrones” season 6 will film (this is something we discussed recently due to the George R.R. Martin book series needing to get ahead), and even when it does, this show is one of the least time-consuming for any individual actors. Other than traveling, the enormous cast makes it so that no one person has to do all of the work.
