‘Call the Midwife’ season 4, episode 5 preview: Cynthia’s return and more
We are at the halfway point on “Call the Midwife” season 4, and so far through this season, one of the biggest themes has been change. The series has done an exemplary job reminding us that nothing in this world can become brand new overnight, and they have been methodical in showing us as certain aspects of the world have changed. Women are starting to become more independent, and with more medical advances come more ways for the midwives to help.
The sneak peek below from Sunday night’s new episode is fairly straightforward, as it allows for an opportunity to see Cynthia’s return. Also, you get a chance to see the arrival of more culture in Poplar, which is something that you don’t see every day. Barbara takes it upon herself to be an educator, which is something that Nonnatus House does need from time to time.
There’s nothing within this preview that is tremendously surprising, but as a whole it does feel significant to watch a scene like this. It’s a reminder that one aspect of the aforementioned change we mentioned is cultural change. Meeting other cultures is still not something that every person does on a daily basis, and finding out more about them is a great experience. It expands the universe of the show slightly, and teaches us how different characters handle given situations.
