‘Hawaii Five-0’ season 5, episode 16 preview: Michelle Wie, Randy Couture guest star
Who doesn’t love guest stars on “Hawaii Five-0“? On tonight’s new episode, we had a chance to see an appearance from Barkhad Abdi of “Captain Phillips” fame in a role that brought to mind the Kony headlines. Next week, we’re going to be heading in a very different direction. “Nānahu” (“Embers”) is an episode that revolves everything from arson to romance to the rather unfortunate arrival of Amber’s ex-husband.
This episode also features quite an array of guest stars. Not only are you going to see golfer Michelle Wie turn in a guest appearance during this installment, but famed UFC fighter Randy Couture will be doing the same thing. While Wie will be playing herself, Couture will be the arsonist at the center of the case below:
“Five-0 enlists the help of a California ATF Agent to find a serial arsonist targeting couples on Oahu. Meanwhile, when Danny whisks Amber away for a romantic getaway, her abusive ex-husband tracks them down, intent on taking his wife back.”
Why does this show in particular bring in so many guest stars? You’re obviously talking first and foremost about a procedural show, and it always helps when you have a different story every week, and can therefore feature a variety of different people almost every time. Of course, being in Hawaii probably does not hurt. Who wouldn’t want to head over to the islands to do a little bit of work, and then vacation the moment that they are done? It’s a rather unique arrangement that way.
