‘How to Get Away with Murder’ episode 13 spoilers: More on ‘Mama’s Here Now’

Last night, “How to Get Away with Murder” set the stage for the 13th episode of the season in a pretty brilliant way: With the arrest of Nate, who was set up as the fall guy and the potential murderer of Sam Keating by Annalise. She protected herself and her students, but also could be sending an innocent man and an ex-lover to prison in the process. How is she going to deal with that? Well, she’ll need a little help from mom.

As we told you last night, Cicely Tyson is officially set to play her mother on the series, and maybe that will be some sort of emotional support. If nothing else, “Mama’s Here Now” is the title for this particular episode, and if you look at the synopsis below, you can see how Bonnie ends up actually having a larger role than ever given what Viola Davis’ character is going through at the moment:

“Annalise is wracked with guilt and turns to an unlikely source for help. Meanwhile, Bonnie must step up and represent a new client accused of rape.”

This episode is not even the calm before the storm; the story is already starting to swirl, and we’ll get a better sense of the aftermath with that when it comes to the final two episodes of the season, which are going to air in just under two weeks as a part of a massive event. The show has been renewed for a second season, but it will be a long wait until it returns in the fall.
