‘How to Get Away with Murder’ episode 13 preview: Cicely Tyson role finally revealed

It was first announced weeks ago that the amazing Cicely Tyson had signed up for a role on ABC’s “How to Get Away with Murder,” but there was still a tremendous amount of mystery surrounding the part. The rumors were that she could be playing the mother to Annalise Keating (Viola Davis), but that was not confirmed until the very end of tonight’s brand new episode.

Clearly, the writers / producers wanted to keep some of the big twists tonight, including the arrest of innocent Nate for Sam Keating’s murder, a secret. Why? we have no official synopsis to share for what happens next week! Still, we feel like we know enough to give an adequate preview, thanks in part to what we saw tonight and the promo below.

The biggest thing is that Annalise has to realize that the battle here is really just beginning. She’s called her mother for some sort of support, and she and the Keating Five have to hope that their story sticks and the physical evidence against Nate is good enough. Not only that, but there is the whole nature of guilt. That can eat and eat away at you until almost nothing is left.

There are only three episodes left this season, so whatever does happen on this show is going to need to happen very quickly. Otherwise, we run the risk of not getting any answers until the fall, and that is a long time to wait. For those curious, the reason we only have 1 episodes this season is due to how they secured Davis to star on the show in the first place.
