‘The Bachelor’ CarterMatt Podcast: on Ashley Iaconetti, Kelsey Poe’s date drama with Jessa
Monday night’s episode of “The Bachelor” was positively insane. How could you have not have been psyched up after watching it? There was one of the most dramatic dates in the history of the show, and this sparks all sorts of great conversation about whether or not the show, or these women, handled things the right way.
Did Chris Soules make the right move in eliminated Kelsey Poe and Ashley Iaconetti? It’s hard to see things any other way. Kelsey clearly had some issues with almost everyone in the house, and Ashley broke what we feel was one of the biggest cardinal sins in the show: You don’t tell the Bachelor about what is wrong with some of his other suitors. The only circumstances this works is if it is something completely serious, such as her having a boyfriend or some other problem that causes her to be completely terrible for him in every way. Saying that you think someone is “fake” is not good enough. Ashley is someone who will hopefully learn from this; a lack of experience was her biggest deterrent in the game.
Meanwhile, we of course also go through the really entertaining group date, and give Chris a good bit of credit for being brave enough to go through with this. It can be intimidating to sing in front of people! Unfortunately, we also have a bone to pick with him for not giving Carly the rose for really giving the most vulnerable performance emotionally. She may have been a naturally gifted singer already, but she really put herself out there and took it seriously.
With the next two episodes airing over two nights, we’re probably going to have one enormous podcast where we discuss almost everything that happened in each episode. Look for that next week.

I liked the podcast. I also think that Whitney has the best chance of winning because she is nice an Chris and her have both types of chemistry. Britt and Chris have the physical chemistry in spades, however, that is all that they seem to have going for them. I think that if Chris picked Britt then, their relationship would peeter out quickly. I think that Carly would be a good Bachelorette. Or, she will be on BIP. I agree with Jessa that Katilyn is too much of one the boys to get the Bachelorette gig. In addition, Britt is a lovely girl, however, she seems to be a bit of a brat now. (Also I saw preview for Sunday.) Her behavoir right there hurt her chances in my mind. Sarah Herron would another good choice for Bachelorette. BTW, I am also on team Nick and I would have picked Nick. There was nothing wrong with his question to her at ATFR. I lost respect for Andi after she got mad at Eric for questioning her genuiness before a rose ceremony. What she say to Nick confirmed to me that Andi is rather cold to people unless they agree with her. I hope Nick is on BIP.

I would love to see Nick in BIP but I can’t see him doing something like that after putting himself out there for Andi and getting kinda jerked around like that. I am crazy about Sarah Herron, i think she’s so beautiful and she doesn’t take any crap at the same time though I agree that Carly would be super great. I think Carly is such a real person and i can relate to her. and you’re totally right Rachel, if chris picks physical chemistry over someone like Whitney it will die out. we’ve seen it happen every time: jake and vienna, ben and courtney, andi and josh. there needs to be more then a physical connection for sure!
