‘Teen Wolf’ season 5: Could Dylan O’Brien become Spider-Man?
While filming is underway at the moment for the fifth season of “Teen Wolf” on MTV, it is time to ask another important question: Could Dylan O’Brien skyrocket at some point during this to be a major movie star? He’s already got “The Maze Runner” under his belt, and he could have the upcoming “Spider-Man” project on there, as well.
According to IGN, O’Brien along with Logan Lerman are two actors that Sony, thanks to their new deal with Marvel Studios, are at least looking at to be the web-crawler as they move him back to a high school setting and try to establish an earlier continuity to add some more variety to the MCU. The report also does note that nobody has reached out to any representatives for the actors just yet.
So what could all of this mean for O’Brien and “Teen Wolf,” if we were hypothetically looking towards the future? The first thing to remember here is that he is a part of season 5, and even if he is cast in the movie, he probably would not start filming for some time. Whether or not there are any conflicts would depend largely on how long MTV chooses to make the series go. We feel like Scott is the real lead of the show, but it is also hard to imagine it without Dylan’s Stiles.
There is a little irony here in that many actors have left “Teen Wolf” to secure roles elsewhere, while he, despite still being on the show, is being looked at for one of the biggest roles imaginable. He certainly looks the part, and has shown he has the wit to pull it off.

If he does get the role of Spider-Man, then I honestly don’t see him sticking around with Teen Wolf. Especially since he’s already exhausted doing both TW and TMR. Add a huge Marvel character to that schedule, he’s likely to drop one. In plus, I seriously believe S5 may be Dylan’s last one, if not the show’s. But I don’t see Jeff Davis cancelling TW without being forced to. Lol. And since it’s MTV’s money-maker, I don’t see them cancelling it either. Haha Dylan is getting more known to the acting world, and from recent news, he’s getting attention from some pretty big companies. I think TW is kind of holding him down from truly breaking out. I love Teen Wolf, don’t get me wrong, Stiles is my favorite character so it would break me to see him leave. But I also would really like to see him in other projects since he’s a fantastic actor and person. Those are my two cents. Great article by the way!
