‘Criminal Minds’ season 10, episode 16 preview: Thomas Gibson directs ‘Lockdown’
Let us start this particular “Criminal Minds” article off with the bad news: There is no new episode airing on CBS next week. Heck, there’s not even one airing the week after that. Due to the likes of the finale of “The Mentalist” and the premiere of “Survivor,” the procedural will be taking a break until Wednesday, March 4. Is there still a silver lining in here? We would say so, and we’d also say that it comes in the form of it being an interesting episode enitlted “Lockdown” that is set within the world of a prison.
Obviously, this setting is a little bit buzzworthy right now due to “Orange is the New Black,” but this is going to be a very different story than the one featuring Taylor Schilling on Netflix. Want to see some further news in terms of what to expect in this installment? Take a look at the synopsis below:
“When two guards at a privatized maximum security prison in Texas are murdered, the BAU suspects that more than one UnSub within the prison could be at work, on CRIMINAL MINDS, Wednesday, March 4 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Series star Thomas Gibson directed the episode. William Ragsdale (“Justified,” “Herman’s Head”) guest stars as prison captain Dale Shavers.”
While this is not exactly the first episode to be directed by Gibson, we do still enjoy whenever one of the cast members goes behind the camera. We’ve already seen Joe Mantegna do it this season, and Gibson also did it already with “Boxed In.”

I know that MGG has directed, what 6-7 episodes. Guess that doesn’t warrant a mention. Why did he back out of the first episode he was to direct? He’s only directing one episode this season. Is he getting his ducks in a row to leave the series?
