‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 6 spoilers: Steven R. McQueen open to eventual return as Jeremy
Tomorrow night’s new episode of “The Vampire Diaries” is probably bound to be bittersweet for a number of different reasons. While it was almost surely be a powerful episode from an emotional point of view, it’s also going to be a difficult one to watch. It is hard to imagine anything else for an installment that is going to see the end of the road for Jeremy Gilbert … at least for the time being.
While we have a hard time seeing Steven R. McQueen on the show again as a regular in the future, the actor does tell TVLine that he could see himself returning in the event that there is a wedding or some other major event. Our prediction? That he is going to be back for either a Damon / Elena wedding if that ever happens, or the series finale. This does not to be a man who is leaving the show out of disdain for it; instead, he seems more like he is just trying to do something different, and he feels like it’s time for his character to say goodbye
“Jeremy’s been through a lot, including dying [at least] twice, so I think it’s about time he got out of Mystic Falls … But it’s still going to be sad to see him go.”
We feel like this moment will be sad for fans, but it also makes a heck of a lot of sense. After all, why would Jeremy in his right mind decide that he wants to continue to be a part of this town, given that the odds of him dying here at any given moment are substantial? It appears like it is not worth all of the effort just to stay alive, when he can have a more peaceful existence elsewhere.
