‘Arrow’ season 3 spoilers: Show boss on Oliver, Felicity, and patience
Is there a rush for the producers to get Stephen Amell and Emily Bett Rickards’ characters together? It is interesting in a way, given that their relationship may be aided by the pure unexpectedness of it all. What we mean by this is that these are not two characters who were originally planned to be endgame, and given that they have become seemingly that way over time, the evolution has not led to anyone growing particularly annoyed by waiting … at least not yet. This is something that showrunner Marc Guggenheim astutely comments on in a chat with Variety:
“I try very hard to avoid evaluating our own show. I’m much more comfortable with letting the audience do that and sort of speak to us. We’re on the Internet. We’re on Twitter. I haven’t gotten a sense that people are feeling jerked around or tired of it … I think in part because Oliver and Felicity, they’re not comic book canon, as it were. They weren’t put together with the intention of becoming love interests. So perhaps, because of those reasons, there’s a little bit more patience on people’s part, or maybe we’re just striking the right balance. I don’t know. I’ll say before an episode airs whether or not I’m excited about an episode, but once an episode has aired, I really like to let the episode speak for itself.”
We’re certainly not tired of the will-they-or-won’t-they game just yet, but we do feel like if the two are not moving more in that direction by next season at the latest, there could be trouble. The show has been so quick to move ahead with other stories, it would be a shame to not see them go at a complete snail’s place here.

I think that the writers have strung along the Olicity fan base knowing it’s the majority of actual fans and have no intention of putting them together. I think they are sooooo worried about building crappy story lines for the all mighty Laurel they could care less about anything else. I fell in love with Arrow on the first episode before Felicity then she came in and made it soooo much better. I never buy seasons of tv shows but I have both first and second season and watch them quite a lot. But unless this season REALLY changes I WON’T be buying it!! And that’s sad to say!!! I feel like Felicity has such a strong fan base they will “use” her to spin off Atom. She will leave Arrow and go with Ray and that will be that for me. I hope and pray I am wrong and I get to enjoy the rest of the season and buy it to add to my collection….

I think it was a little drastic and they need to make up their minds soon or it will get annoying. Even if they get together there are many great story lines to use. The green arrow character is actually known for being able to balance both a committed relationship and being a hero. I see no reason why instead of the black canary he can’t have that with felicity.
