‘The Mentalist’ season 7, episode 11 video: Does Patrick Jane have a rival psychic?

Given that Patrick Jane of “The Mentalist” is not a real psychic, do we have to wonder the same exact thing about Gabriel? This is clearly one of the questions that the preview video below for Wednesday night’s new episode is making us wonder.

This new character is introduced in the sneak peek via his sister, who tells Wylie that Gabriel has some specific knowledge about a case that could be very valuable for the entire team to hear. Unfortunately, he is rather shy, and it is more about his gift than anything that he necessarily saw with his physical eye.

What Gabriel is at least very good at is reading people. He is able to detect that Wylie is still grieving following the death of Michelle Vega, and offers him some consolation. This is obviously his move to convince him that he is what he claims to be, and also ergo one of the good guys.

Is he really to be trusted? We will have to figure that out as “Byzantium” continues along. One obvious conspiracy theory here would be that he has a secret motive to divert the team away from the case … including that he may ultimately be the killer himself. This is at least something that we should very well consider.

We are going to have a full review of this episode come tomorrow night, and we can only hope that this will also come with some form of answers.
