‘Community’ season 6 spoilers: Prepare for a ‘Police Academy’ reunion!

While there has not exactly been a whole lot of breaking news in regards to ‘Community” season 6, we like to think of the following as news that we are almost always excited to get no matter of the time: A classic movie franchise being reunited on Yahoo Screen when the show premieres come March 17.

The oh-so-cool photo that we have attached for you below is from Steve Guttenberg’s Twitter page, and it features him alongside the likes of Bobcat Goldthwait and also Tim Kazurinsky. Who doesn’t like a little “Police Academy” action on this show? Judging from the smile on Joel McHale’s face, he is just as excited as we would be if we were at a random “Chuck” reunion. They all look so happy!

It remains to be seen just what and how exactly these three fit in to the “Community” universe, but we hardly imagine that show creator Dan Harmon just invited them to come over and take a look at the set. There had to be something more here!

Production on “Community” has been underway for many weeks, and we know already about a variety of different changes. For example, Yvette Nicole Brown and recent recurring player Jonathan Banks are out, and they have been replaced by “Criminal Minds” alum Paget Brewster and Keith David of “Enlisted” fame. Ironically, “Enlisted” was also briefly rumored to be courted by Yahoo Screen for a new season. That just did not pan out.

The structure of “Community” is such that new episodes will premiere every week on the service; there is not going to be a move a la Netflix to bombard you (or delight you, depending on your perspective) with new episodes all at one time.

For now, let us know about this particular casting with a comment.
