‘Gotham’ episode 16 preview: Bruce Wayne, power, and ‘The Blind Fortune Teller’
On next week’s new episode of “Gotham” entitled “The Blind Fortune Teller,” expect to see the story continue to evolve in a variety of ways. For the first time, we may be more excited about a Bruce Wayne story than we are anything else that the show is bringing to the table. Who would have saw that coming? We certainly didn’t, especially when you remember that we have the juicy story of the Penguin’s rise to criminal fame happening every week.
The first thing that we should say is that this episode is entitled “The Blind Fortune Teller,” which is a hook of a name even if it is not as grabby as what we had tonight with “The Scarecrow.” It features Gordon and Dr. Thompkins seemingly on a date, but one that turns out to be the date from hell. The synopsis below offers up a little bit of insight, especially when it comes to that Bruce Wayne story we mentioned:
“Gordon takes Dr. Leslie Thompkins (guest star Morena Baccarin) to the circus, but the day turns quickly when the circus comes under attack. Then, Falcone enlists Butch Gilzean to help Penguin with the night club, while Fish Mooney is otherwise occupied. Also, Bruce Wayne schedules a meeting with the Wayne Enterprises board.”
The reason we’re more excited for the Wayne story than any other is because that is a level of excitement that we can tangibly see and experience on the show, and that is not something that we are going to get fully from his transformation into Batman for a long time. We’d be surprised if we even saw Batman before the series finale, if even then.
