‘Scorpion’ season 1, episode 12 review: Sylvester overcomes his fears
This is our first Christmas episode for “Scorpion” and we are expecting a lot of holiday cheer from our crew… well more so from Paige then anyone else. Will the group get into the spirit of the holiday or will they scrooge up the joint?
Paige has really found her footing with the “Scorpion” crew, but they are still having a hard time relating to her – that’s why when we saw her come into the garage brimming with Christmas cheer we couldn’t help but smile. She clearly loves the holiday and wanted to get everyone in on the fun, but this team hasn’t always had the best experience with Christmas and weren’t exactly warming up to the idea no matter how much tinsel and eggnog Paige threw at them.
The case of the week revolved around a young boy who gets trapped in a sinkhole and is fighting to stay alive while the “Scorpion” team tries to figure out a way to get him out. After trying a few unorthodox methods they feared that the boy was not going to survive, but with Walter’s perseverance and Sylvester pushing through some of his more severe fears they were able to save the boy.
Even though there wasn’t a lot going on with out main team’s personal lives, we really needed an episode that pushed Sylvester out of his comfort zone and to face some of his fears… and trust us when we say that they are plenty! We were a little concerned that his paralyzing fears would stop him from really helping the team out and possibly leaving them in danger more often then not, but after seeing just how strong he can be, we feel much safer with Sylvester around. Episode grade: C
