Grammys 2015: AC/DC perform ‘Highway to Hell,’ more in opening

Grammy -Tonight is the 2015 Grammys, and if there is one performance that is more important than any other, it is the opening. You really want to make sure that you get everyone hooked from the start and the band that they chose to kick start the show is easily one of the greatest rock bands of all time.

We have to give the show a little bit of credit here for thinking outside of the box in choosing AC/DC to open things. We would assume that they would pick someone who is current, hip, and predictable like most of the major nominees this year. Instead, they went with a group that is incredibly important to the history of rock and roll. The band played two songs, including “Highway to Hell,” to mass applause. It is just pure rock bliss without any collaboration from any other artists. Either you love the group or you don’t, but one thing that can’t be argued is their effect on music over the years.

What stunned us after the performance was hearing from host LL Cool J that this is the first of 23 performances that are going to be taking place tonight. 23! Seriously. We have no idea how in the world how in the world this show will be over by midnight, given the way things tend to draw out. (Ultimately, it’s not like CBS minds; they get huge ratings throughout.)

Tonight is Grammy night, and for us, this of course means plenty of coverage! We’re going to have so much more as we go throughout this show, so take a look at the link below and stay tuned.
