Is ‘The Good Wife’ season 6, episode 13 new tonight? Archie Panjabi commentary and more
At the moment, isn’t “The Good Wife” doing a pretty tremendous job at keeping things a secret? While CBS has already released some information about the return of “Madam Secretary” on March 1, they are not doing the same thing here. In other words, what we’re trying to do is come up with yet another way to remind you that there is not a new episode airing tonight.
Hopefully, the network will be kind enough to give us at least a synopsis in the coming week, given that it would fit with the timing in which they have released some other material so far. So while there are not many other headlines on that front, we suppose that the biggest news of the week was that there will be seven consecutive episodes airing every week starting with the show’s March return. While we cannot really say that we’re shocked by this, given that it is something that the network has done more or less in the past, we do still feel like it is nice to know.
One interesting story that is a little older, but we do want to highlight is Archie Panjabi telling the Radio Times that it was actually her work on “The Fall” that told her she was getting a little too comfortable with the Kalinda character, and that she should choose to depart “The Good Wife” after this season:
“When I was kissing her, Allan Cubitt, the show’s creator and director, had to say, ‘Archie, can you hold back?’ because Gillian was supposed to take me by complete surprise. I didn’t think that I was very forward in [the scene], but obviously after a while a character starts to affect you … I thought [as a result], ‘OK, I think it’s time to go now.'”
We understand what Archie is saying here. She does not want to be defined by Kalinda, and she also wants to be continuously challenged. She’s had six great seasons (at least if you forget that Nick part), so it may be time for something new.
