Oscars 2015: How Neil Patrick Harris, David Burtka brainstormed

While tonight marks the 2015 Grammy Awards, you should be prepared already to celebrate something else: The Oscars coming up in the near future! Two weeks from tonight, Neil Patrick Harris will be hosting one of the biggest nights in cinema, but tonight he was on the red carpet of the music awards show with his husband David Burtka.

So how is the planning process going for the Oscars right now? Early indications are that it is going to go off without a hitch, though of course Neil was pretty coy when it came to the details. He did say that Burtka has been working with him on ideas, with David saying that a couple of his have made their way into the show.

Neil also explained that for him, his challenge is making sure that he is engaging and entertaining when he opens up the Oscars, but also being very aware that there is only so much time that he has to work with. There are only around eight minutes or so for him to make the best impression possible, and then he has to ultimately hand things off to the first set of presenters.

While we will have to see whether or not Neil completely brings it and then some during his opening performance, suffice it to say that we are confident in his abilities. This is not exactly a guy who is coming into this with zero experience; he knows what he is doing already, and that is going to be a huge asset with dealing with the nerves … even if this is the biggest show to date.
