ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 7 spoilers: First details on Stana Katic, Nathan Fillion in ‘The Wrong Stuff’

“Castle” is going to be spending the next two weeks tackling what is effectively some pretty serious business in “Resurrection” and “Reckoning”: The return of 3XK. This is a storyline that really needs to be resolved in order for the series to actually tie up one of its main loose ends, and who knows? Maybe this is the occasion when it will finally be tied up.

We care here today to give you a quick look at “The Wrong Stuff,” which is the upcoming 16th episode of the season airing two weeks from Monday night. You can see some preliminary scoop on what to expect here via the short synopsis below (sent to us via SpoilerTV):

“An astronaut is killed inside a Mars simulation; a discovery results in a shocking turn in the case.”

After a two-episode arc that is probably going to be violent and at times possibly even disturbing (but can we really expect anything less from 3XK?), what we are probably hoping for in this episode more so than anything else is an opportunity to breathe a little bit, and have a bit of fun. This is a chance for the show to take a moment, and present something that is different, but also perfectly in the “Castle” vein (fun, mystery and Castle acting like a bit of a man-child).

Also, is it too much to ask for a “Firefly” reference given that we are talking about outer space here? It would be a dire travesty to not have one at some point during this episode.
