‘Sleepy Hollow’ season 2, episode 16 preview: Ichabod’s complicated relationship with Thomas Jefferson

Ichabod -Monday night, “Sleepy Hollow” will get us closer than ever to the season 2 finale, and to go along with that, it also presents us with an opportunity to meet another Founding Father! Someone probably needs to start wondering if Ichabod Crane was actually some sort of social butterfly, given the ties that he seems to have with almost every famous person at the time of the Revolution.

What is notable about his tie to Thomas Jefferson, though, is that it was not always perfectly kind and cordial. Suffice it to say, there were some bumps in the road between these two. This is something that you can see a little bit more of in the sneak peek below, as he explains some of his background with Jefferson to Abbie, including how he once looked up to the man as a mentor.

Ultimately, this should be a rather interesting story to crack as we move a little bit further into this episode, especially when it comes to one question: How can Jefferson actually help Crane now? Whenever a show introduces a character from the past we haven’t heard much about until now, we like to think that there must be a reason for an appearance from this character – what do they really bring to the story?

If nothing else, we can at least rejoice that this part gives us another chance to really see another fun twist on history. This is something that the show has done a good job of giving us so far, and we have to think that it will continue through until the end of the current season.
