‘Shameless’ season 5, episode 5 preview: Emma Rossum’s Fiona makes a decision

On the last new episode of “Shameless,” we saw the Fiona character make what has to be one of her most surprising decisions that we’ve seen from her to date. After all, she decided after almost zero amount of time getting to know Gus that she was going to marry him!

So what comes after this? It is strictly a matter of actually figuring out when is the right time to break the news to almost everyone else. She discusses with him extensively as to whether or not she should tell the family. He is very insistent that the two go through with the admission. However, she is a little more hesitant for a variety of different reasons. We assume that the biggest one for her is just that she does not really want to ruin what is a good thing for her right now. She is happy with him, and the Gallaghers have a habit of ruining … well, everything.

At the end of the clip, though, Fiona relents, and realizes that she will be better off just making the news clear. However, there is one caveat: She wants to make sure that he does it with her.

So what is the over / under on how long this lasts? Maybe this show is going to surprise us by having them actually stay around for a long time, but given all of the other variables out there (see: Jimmy), we have a hard time imagining that it will last.
