‘Shark Tank’ review: FunBites, the Lip Bar, BevBoy, and Himalayan Dog Chew
Tonight, “Shark Tank” had what may be one of their more random assortment of products this season. Sure, we definitely had a chance to see some new innovations, but there were also dog treats and lip products, as well!
We said it before going into this episode, but we still feel like the biggest criticism that we can offer for this product right now is just that most of these products are mostly commodities. There are not any in here that we would say you absolutely have to buy. None of them really solve a problem that are out there, and are just luxuries that are for the most part nice to have. At least it was entertaining! We’ve got our take on all of these products below; as always, you can click on the product name to be taken to the official website for each product.
Himalayan Dog Chew – Apparently, humans do actually eat this in addition to dogs. It has some great sales already, but to a certain extent we understand many of the questions. Why are they really there? Mark Cuban’s right that this is mostly a chance for them to use the platform for even more sales, since they are clearly doing fine as it is.
We actually feel that these guys did everything right. They did give them a pretty fair counter-offer that was not a debt deal (which was what Kevin O’Leary and Lori Greiner wanted to give them), but they weren’t interested. Rather than devaluing their company too much, they walked away.
The Lip Bar – Do you want some responsible lip care? We do like the dedication here, and it feels like there is a whole lot of passion behind the product. Here’s the issue: This is a heavily-competitive industry. Outside of that terrible lipstick-mobile idea and some branding issues, we think that there is a good bit to like here. They seem very intent on making this into a winner. If we were them, we would concentrate on the advice given to them, and use that to make this into a winning brand. They have some of the tools. No deal.
BevBoy – Anyone thirsty? This product will come to your rescue in the pool! This idea is really silly. We don’t think that this is a $10 million product. With that being said, it could be around a $2 million product. College parties could like this! We laugh at this, but Daymond John did invest in it. Clearly, there is a market out there for something like this. We’re just not it.
FunBites – This is designed to make food fun for kids. We like the product well enough, mostly because it has Lori written all over it and it feels like plenty of parents across the country would buy it. Also, the margins are great, and she even has a patent. We feel for the other sharks, but they didn’t really have a chance here. She knew from the moment she walked in that she wanted Lori, and as soon as she made an offer, the deal was done.

Calling contestants cockroaches is really cocky and mean. Well, he called another one zonky because the guy’s real name is Kevin who invested bevboy. Kevin O’Riley is mean. He is the Simon Cowell of Shark Tank. But I love the show because it really opens your eyes to what people are doing out there to make money.
The sweetest and warmest sharks on there are my boy Daymond John and Lori. They are good looking and kind hearted. They don’t demean people. The other ones it depends on the weather. They can be mean and very salty with their comments.
