‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 6, episode 14 preview: Steven R. McQueen’s Jeremy says goodbye

JeremyThe Vampire Diaries” has become in many ways used to saying goodbye to characters, but we have to say that the majority of the time, it is handled a little bit differently than what we are accustomed to. After all, the plan here is not to write out Steven R. McQueen’s character of Jeremy by killing him. Instead, he is moving on to art school. This was a move sparked by his own desire to move on; maybe he will come back at some point, but we’d be shocked if it is later this season.

The official synopsis for next week’s “Stay” makes it clear that Jeremy is preparing to say goodbye. With that being said, there is a whole lot going on beyond just his storyline … and some of it may be emotional. Just look, for example, at what Caroline is continuing to go through:

“It’s Jeremy’s (Steven R. McQueen) last day in Mystic Falls and Elena (Nina Dobrev) puts on a brave face as they reminisce about their past. Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Caroline (Candice Accola) find themselves growing closer as they prepare Caroline’s family cabin for her mother to live out her final days. While packing up her office, Sheriff Forbes (guest star Marguerite MacInytre) turns to Damon (Ian Somerhalder) for help solving one of her remaining open cases involving Elena’s parents. Elsewhere, when a violent confrontation with Enzo (Michael Malarkey) leaves Jeremy wondering whether he should leave or not, Matt (Zach Roerig) finds his own life on the line after Enzo lures him and Sarah Salvatore (guest star Tristan Mays) into his dangerous plan. Lastly, Caroline rushes to the hospital after learning her mother has taken a turn for the worse.”

Obviously, there is a lot of sadness in there, but at the same time, maybe this is an episode that will really please Caroline and Stefan fans.
