‘American Horror Story’ season 5: Why the long wait for more news?

Want to know something interesting? We are now more than two weeks removed from the finale to “American Horror Story: Freak Show,” and we still have almost no further information about what the fifth season is going to be.

Should we be that surprised by this? Ultimately, the answer here is both yes and no. It’s not exactly like the cast and crew were all that forthcoming about events last year, because they weren’t. We really did not have any extensive information about the theme or the full cast.

We imagine, though, is that at least with that season, we had a pretty good feelings Jessica Lange was coming back. Here, we do not even know that, and the lack of post-mortems on the “Freak Show” finale added to the problem. Maybe someone realized that this season was not particularly well-received, and it benefits them to get a little bit of distance before talking about it.

At this point, we do not expect a whole lot in the way of information before the upcoming PaleyFest event that is taking place next month. This is where the Michael Chiklis casting was first revealed, so if there is a place that could in theory bring a few enormous surprises your way, this is probably going to be it. Ultimately, we would say that you will probably get a chance to hear a little bit about the new theme, and may even a couple of cast members who are joining.
