‘The Flash’ spoilers: First look at Caitlin, Ronnie in ‘The Nuclear Man’

Just when Caitlin Snow thinks that she is starting to move forward on “The Flash,” then the events of Tuesday night’s “The Nuclear Man” start to enter the picture. This is an episode that could at least give her some hope potentially that Ronnie Raymond could come back into her life, and they can prepare for the future once again that they once thought they were going to have.

While that would be wonderful for them (and fun to watch for us as viewers), we cannot really sit here and say with a whole lot of confidence that we really see that happening for them at all. This story just has notes of tragedy all over it from start to finish. Is it possible that there is some sort of way for Ronnie and Martin Stein to un-merge from each other? Sure, and the image above seems to suggest that this is happening. The issue here is whether or not they are going to be able to be apart permanently without some serious consequences.

Of course, the biggest reason we have a hard time seeing these two happy in the end is knowing what could eventually happen here with Caitlin, and who she at least becomes within the world of the comics. Without giving too much away, how do you send her down that trajectory if she is happy and enjoying her life with Ronnie? Then again, we also wonder a little about how you are going to do this, anyway, given that she seems to have a lovely family-of-sorts with Barry Allen and the team at STAR Labs right now.

Ultimately, though, we feel like the story of Firestorm is much more of a priority than anything that happens with Caitlin down the road. We just need to get through this episode first.
