‘Doctor Who’ season 9: BBC series to be immortalized in LEGO form
For those of you who really wanted to see “Doctor Who” become transformed yet again, we come bearing news: The BBC series is regenerating, but this time around, they will be doing so into LEGO form!
As the toy company announces in the video below, the idea board has decided to further along a product that will feature some popular characters from the series in a set coming out later this fall. This was one of many ideas that was submitted by longtime LEGO supporters in hopes of seeing it immortalized in some way. This project for the company has become a tremendous source of more and more attention over the past year or so, as they continue to branch out and reach more of an adult audience.
Unfortunately, at this time there are no official details as to what the set would be, or who will be featured for some. We imagine that Peter Capaldi and Jenna Coleman would have their own versions of the Doctor and Clara in there, mostly because they are the ones viewers are currently watching. Still, why now throw in there a Matt Smith, a David Tennant, or a Karen Gillan? Give us some other popular people?
Also, we feel like a police box is almost a given as well, since it is very hard to imagine the series being brought into the LEGO universe without one of its signature items.
This is ultimately just yet another nice update to keep you excited about all things “Doctor Who,” especially since you are having to wait until fall to see any more of the series again on BBC One / BBC America. We will have some other news as it comes out at the link here.
