‘Snooki & JWoww’ series finale: From ‘Jersey Shore’ to weddings, children

Today is a strange one in the history of reality television, since it marks the end of the road effectively of “Jersey Shore” and all of its various offshoots on MTV. This show was at one point the biggest reality program out there, and it made instant stars out of Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, DJ Pauly D, and everyone else who took part. They were making shocking amounts of cash for nightclub appearances, and helped to really ensure that the music network stayed relevant in the social-media age.

Now, we are seeing so much of this end courtesy of the “Snooki & JWoww” finale. Hopefully, the wedding bells and the memories give you a little bit of closure, and it is an interesting way to bookend where these people are now compared to where they were when you first saw them all the way back in Seaside Heights before they even had nicknames.

So what is the legacy of these two? More than anything, a modern-day odd couple that show that you can excel and even break the mold of what the original perception of you was. You can argue that their spin-off show became far less interesting television, but at a certain point, it felt like there was a trade-off between making crazy TV, and then actually focusing on yourselves, your family, and then hoping that the cameras follow.

This is why even though we’re sure that they would love to continue having careers in the industry, we feel like Snooki and JWoww are going to handle being out of the spotlight better than they would years ago. They have families now to focus on, and while they may be emotional due to the end of their show, someday they may be able to look back at a whole lot of this and smile.
