‘Saturday Night Live’: Justin Timberlake, Bill Murray, Tom Hanks, more confirmed for 40th anniversary
The 40th anniversary special of “Saturday Night Live” is going to be coming up on February 15, but you really don’t have to wait that long to find out who is going to be a part of it! We expected the show to go all-out in their efforts to give us one of the best lineups of celebrities that we’ve ever seen, but even we had no clue that the group would be this extensive, or this full of familiar faces. Your jaw may drop after seeing the complete lineup.
Without further ado, let’s get into this: Emma Stone, Justin Timberlake, Chevy Chase, Derek Jeter, Kanye West, Sir Paul McCartney, Adam Sandler, Jimmy Fallon, Tina Fey, Will Ferrell, Steve Martin, Mike Myers, Melissa McCarthy, Robert De Niro, Jerry Seinfeld, Paul Simon, Eddie Murphy, Molly Shannon, Andy Samberg, Bill Murray, Jack Nicholson, Jim Carrey, Amy Poehler, Peyton Manning, Dana Carvey, Kristen Wiig, Dan Aykroyd, Chris Rock, Alec Baldwin, Taylor Swift, Garrett Morris, Christopher Walden, Maya Rudolph, Betty White, Tom Hanks, and Martin Short.
Now, take a deep breath, and marvel at how awesome that list really is. You have many former cast members in there, some of the most-memorable hosts, and even a few musical guests. We do like that even a couple of athletes like Manning and Jeter found their way in.
Above all else, though, the names we’re the happiest to see are Murphy (who already confirmed his participation), Murray, White, and Nicholson, who rarely does any sort of public appearance aside from his films. While we’re thrilled about Fey, Poehler, Baldwin, Wiig, McCarthy, Timberlake, and Carvey, we expected them all to be there.
The only question we have for now is Bill Hader, who seems to be an obvious omission. We feel like that is just an oversight, since most of these names have come out of promos. Our jaw would hit the ground if he wasn’t there. The same goes for Seth Meyers and Ana Gasteyer.
