‘The Big Bang Theory’ season 8 spoilers: Carol Ann Susi tribute episode to air February 19
Earlier this year, we did hear that “The Big Bang Theory” was looking for a way to honor the late, great Carol Ann Susi. However, the show did not want to rush things along simply so that they could give her a halfhearted tribute after being such an important part of the show for so many years.
Now, we do know for sure when this episode will air. Per TVLine, this storyline will be factored into “The Comic Book Store Regeneration,” the episode of the show that airs on February 19. This is the same episode that features the cameo from Nathan Fillion, but that will be a separate storyline.
This particular episode will feature Howard getting some likely-tragic news about his mother, at around the same time that Stuart looks to reopen his comic book store using an investment that he originally got from Debbie. Apparently, this new store also has a seating area that features furniture from Howard’s childhood home.
There were and are many different options as to how the writers of the show could handle this, but we know that they are not recasting the character. Nobody wants to see Howard suffer, but killing off the Debbie character seems to be the only right move to make. It is realistic in that death is a part of life, and another Chuck Lorre series in “Mom” recently tackled some hard subjects. We know that these sitcoms are not shy about taking on hard issues when they are appropriate.
In the end, we just hope that the episode exudes the same sort of love for the character that the cast and crew had for the woman who played her.
We will have some further news on this episode as the air date nears, but there is a new episode airing Thursday an you can get some more scoop on that over at the link here. Also you can head over here to acquire some further TV updates via our CarterMatt Newsletter. (Photo: CBS.)
