‘Bates Motel’ season 3: Freddie Highmore, Vera Farmiga go full-on creepy in new poster
Clearly, we are getting more and more of an idea as to where “Bates Motel” is going in its upcoming third season, and it is somewhere that really wants to play up everything strange and creepy between this mother and son.
Today, A&E released (per The Hollywood Reporter) their latest poster for the show’s March 9 return, and it makes no bones about where the story for Freddie Highmore’s character of Norman Bates is going. We knew that the series would eventually get to taking on some of the themes of the Alfred Hitchcock film, and we may be closer to that right now than we have been to date. The sinister look in his eyes adds to the list of reasons as to why you should be afraid of him.
Also, this image gives you a first look at Norma (Vera Farmiga) for this season, and she appears to be almost detached from what is going on around her. She is looking somewhere else, and still comforting a boy who clearly does not need the comfort anymore. She is going to have a harder and harder time ignoring the obvious as time progresses.
Expectations have to be high for the rest of the season and therefore the series. After all, we know how this story is supposed to end, and now, what we really have are just questions as to how in the world we are going to get there and if it will be worth the wait. We’re hoping for it, and they haven’t let us down yet.
