‘The Blacklist’ season 2, episode 9 video: Final look at ‘Luther Braxton: Part I’
Fans of “The Blacklist” get ready because what you’ve been waiting for is almost here: The return of Reddington, Liz and all new villains from the list. The last time that the series aired on NBC, it was back in November before Thanksgiving. Times were different then. For example, the 10:00 p.m. timeslot was actually getting good ratings for the network. Who knows? That may never happen again with this series moving to Thursdays.
Tonight, what we are getting is the beginning of a two-part spectacular entitled “Luther Braxton,” which will hopefully serve as a nice addition to all those who miss the series, and also a thrilling introduction to everyone who is watching it for the first time. There is a whole lot to look forward to with this story!
For new fans, the biggest thing that you can expect is a great performance from James Spader in the Raymond Reddington role, and also some fast-paced action and some surprising twists and turns. Both old and new fans should have something great via Ron Perlman as Braxton, a notorious thief who actually causes Reddington to be a little concerned for a change instead of being his arrogant self. There are not many times when we actually see this guy shaking in his boots a little! It’s always nice to see a different side to this character.
In the end, don’t expect the show to dive too much the deep mythology; instead, they will work tonight on establishing some new plotlines, and maybe give you a tease or two about Reddington’s long-term connection to Liz Keen.
