‘The Bachelor’: Juelia Kinney understands Chris Soules’ decision
There is always something that is fairly interesting to us about the dichotomy between “The Bachelor” contestants as presented on the show, and then the contestants in interviews after the fact. We imagine that so much of it is the edit, which is designed mostly to produce a number of entertaining / shocking soundbytes just as much as it is designed to give you some further insight into what the show wants you to think.
Take, for example, what we get from Juelia Kinney now in an exit interview, as compared to what we heard from her on the show. There is obviously so much more that we are aware of now, and it further informs us that not everyone on the show immediately falls head over heels in love with Chris. Just take a look at what she had to say, per Reality TV World:
“I obviously do wish that I had gotten a one-on-one so that I could’ve gotten to know him on a deeper level. It is hard on the group dates to get enough time to really connect with each other, but I would definitely say that I felt that the type of guy that Chris is, is somebody that I could see myself having a relationship with … But as far as, you know, a connection, I didn’t really feel a romantic connection and I kind of agreed with Chris when he sent me home, because I think we were both fond of each other but we just didn’t have that chemistry.”
Ultimately, we do feel like Juelia was going to have a hard time lasting forever in this competition anyway. She obviously had to tell Chris about her past at some point, but it felt like it was the wrong time and place for it, and the competition is for the most part at this point fairly light and breezy.
