‘The Flash’ episode 12 video: Barry Allen meets Linda Park

Ready to see how Barry Allen handles romance? Well, you are going to find out come Tuesday night when “The Flash” airs an all-new episode. This is the beginning of Malese Jow’s potential arc as reporter Linda Park, who could end up being a major love interest for the character.

As for how she first shows up in Barry’s life, it comes via some pretty humorous circumstances. It appears that the show is going to take advantage of Grant Gustin’s “Glee” skill set to have him do some karaoke with Caitlin Snow, and Linda was even impressed enough by it to come up, say hello, and then hand over some of her contact information. Linda is clearly a smart, confident person, given that she did just give her digits to a complete stranger. Lucky for her, Barry is probably in good enough shape to remember it. While he has probably done plenty of drinking on the night, we have learned already that he handles booze like nobody’s business.

To us, it feels as though Linda’s real purpose on the show is twofold.

1. To give Barry a little more romantic experience. While we doubt that she is endgame, she does at least represent an opportunity for him to learn a little more about how to date in this world. While he has had a few hints of romance here and there, especially when it comes to Felicity, we cannot say that he’s had a full-fledged relationship yet.

2. To potentially make Iris wonder about her own feelings for Barry. Sometimes, it is hard to think about this when the person is constantly single.
