‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 6 spoilers: Details on Julie Plec’s directorial debut

The latest -Season 6 of “The Vampire Diaries” has contained quite a few twists and turns throughout, but one other thing that the show is making headlines for its lineup of directors. Star Paul Wesley recently had an episode from him air, and Ian Somerhalder has spent much of this month working on his own directorial debut for the show.

So how about executive producer Julie Plec? Despite being one of the creative forces on the show over the past six years, she has never taken on this position before … at least until now. Her episode is entitled “Let Her Go,” and it is going to air come Thursday, February 19. The CW released the official synopsis below, and it suggests that there will be craziness aplenty (with a warning for possible spoilers):

“After assigning tasks to each of her friends, Caroline (Candice Accola) attempts to deal with her current situation as reality begins to set in around her. While spending the day with Caroline, Elena (Nina Dobrev) grows concerned when she starts noticing a strange change in her behavior. Meanwhile, Alaric (Matt Davis) becomes wary when Kai (guest star Chris Wood), who has begun experiencing unexpected consequences from the merge, turns to Jo (guest star Jodi Lyn O’Keefe), desperate for her help. Elsewhere, while Bonnie (Kat Graham) finds herself in an unfamiliar situation, Matt (Zach Roerig) and Tyler (Michael Trevino) contemplate a major life change. And when Damon (Ian Somerhalder) offers Caroline advice on how to cope with everything going on around her, it forces him to revisit painful memories involving his own mother.”

In case you are wondering, Ian’s episode is probably going to air at some point in March or April depending on when the network decides that they want to schedule new episodes. It always has a hiatus somewhere in there.
