‘The Mentalist’ season 7 video: Simon Baker, cast member talk favorite storylines
The final season of “The Mentalist” is nearing the end, and doesn’t that make for a great opportunity to see some of the cast members reflect on their favorite experiences? We like to think so.
In the video below, you can see the likes of Simon Baker, Tim Kang, and Rockmond Dunbar all reflect on what have been some of their favorite stories to be a part of on the show since the very beginning, and it really should not be altogether shocking to anyone to hear that Simon is particularly fond of the Red John story. Dunbar does not have nearly as much material to work with here, given that he really has only been on the show since the midway point of season 6. (Still, he’s been great while he has been around.)
What we have wondered about in recent weeks is just what the endgame would be for this show, and what would motivate Jane now that this notorious villain is dead. Lately, it has seemed almost like what is motivating him above all else is not wanting to be a part of this world anymore. He is starting to realize more and more just how dangerous it is to be a part of this world, almost like being with Lisbon has been a trigger of this.
Given that there is a strong possibility that a beloved member of the show family is going to die on Wednesday night’s new episode, these concerns may amplify to another level.

I know I probably blend in with the masses, but I REALLY want to see at least a proposal. Especially after this whole storyline with Jane freaking out over Lisbon’s safety. They have to resolve that somehow, and the best way to do that in 4 episodes is a wedding. Jane can whisk her away and protect her. Plus, I’m sure they are doing well with money, considering they work for the FBI. Therefore, the need to work can be extinguished. Lisbon may still want to work, but after seeing someone die *cough* Vega *cough*, maybe that will change her mind. Come on, Jane. PROPOSE ALREADY! That provides a logical reason for Rigsby and Van Pelt to return as well. Then, they solve the new serial killer case, and realize they don’t want to put themselves in that danger anymore. BOOM. DONE. Wrapped up every storyline for the rest of the season. BAM. Now let’s see it.
I feel like I’m on the Price is Right. “Come on! Big money! Big money!”
