NBC releases ‘Undateable’ season 2, Neil Patrick Harris variety show teasers

For the Super Bowl this Sunday, NBC is doing what they can to really promote almost every thing coming up on their schedule, and that even includes some programs that may not be on the air for quite a while moving forward.

The biggest surprise that we have from the video is that the first teaser video for Neil Patrick Harris’ upcoming variety show, even though this is not going to be a part of the conversation for the network lineup-wise until this fall. We do still love the preview below, mostly because it has fun with the length of the commercial, and also how little time there is to actually do anything that is particularly notable.

There are probably many questions out there still as to what this show is even going to look like, but for the most part, that is perfectly fine with us. We’re just glad that someone is giving this old format another shot, since it is a great sort of counter-programming to everything out there that is a little more DVR-friendly. You really do need to watch this live or when it airs to get the full flavor of it. (We’re not entirely sure it will be live.)

In addition to this, we’ve also got a new preview for the return of “Undateable” coming up on the network later this year. There’s nothing particularly spoilery about it, but it certainly fits the silly tone of this show almost perfectly. Also, Ron Funches is amazing, and we’d watch him in just about anything.
