‘Suits’ season 4, episode 11 reaction: Is forgiveness possible for Louis Litt?

Louis -The winter premiere of “Suits” Wednesday night could have very well gone with a very different title, and that is “let’s watch Louis Litt get ridiculously angry.” This man has definitely been on an emotional rollercoaster. It started with him resigning and thinking that he could go to jail, but after he learned the truth about Mike Ross being a fraud, he then went to the other side of the emotional spectrum and exploded. his actions were at times intense, and they included tormenting Mike, using Rachel to make him want to quit, and also make Harvey and Jessica throw constant celebrations for him getting his name on the door.

We still feel in the same way that we did when we wrote our review for this episode last night, and that is that Louis’ actions are in many ways dictated more or less by his own feeling of wanting to be accepted and not being hurt. He was hurt that everyone lied to him, and now, this is his way of acting out … even if Jessica seemed to have found a way to stop him now.

Is it really possible that Louis can be forgiven for these actions? This is something that Aaron Korsh speaks eloquently about in a post-premiere interview with TVLine:

“I just want to mention for a minute that the five of them all kept a massive secret from him that also put his career and his firm in jeopardy while letting him resign over what he did. So I wouldn’t say they are completely faultless when you’re looking at it from Louis’ perspective. He’s not just being mean for no reason. They’re reaping a little bit of what they sowed.

“If you think of it like a family, for someone to be truly unforgiving, that would be a tough thing to do. Family tends to fight and get incredibly mad at each other, but always have the ability to regroup and re-bond. So we’re going to explore that in the back six [episodes] with Louis and everyone.”

Louis’ situation is ultimately one of many to watch unfold in the final episodes this season, and in the end, we certainly do not think that it will be resolved anytime soon.
